Creating Your own Open Educational Resource (OER)
End of course - producing your own 'innovative' OER
Throughout the final three sessions of C4E you will produce your own Open Educational Resource (OER); drawing upon the main concepts, principles, skills and resources that you have covered as part of this course, and, through your reflexive engagement (in relation to your own practice and teaching area[s] of interest), you will create an artefact of learning engagement. Ultimately, it is expected that you will use this in your own practice, and, deposit the resource - for other academics to utilise - in Jorum.
Each 'OER product' will be subject to an ongoing peer-review process - i.e. 'you' will access and (constructively) feedback/critique colleagues' OER's, likewise, your peers will access and constructively comment on your OER in-construction. The course team (Phil Johnson and Craig Hammond) will also contribute towards this peer-review process.
The depositing process is relatively straightforward and the sharing of experiences will help with the profile of your resource but for now please be aware that the following points are generally made at this stage:
- a summary of what your resource is about
- the context in which it was created
- your intentions for the resource
- suggestions for the ways in which it can be used
